IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (712) Boliviana / HIP 43172 event on 2023 Mar 29, 17:16 UT Visible from Asia, Africa Summary ------- On 2023 Mar 29 UT, the 117.8 km diameter asteroid (712) Boliviana will occult a 7.6 mag star in the constellation Hydra for observers along a path across Asia, Africa. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.95 mag to 7.99 mag (the combined magnitude of the asteroid and the close companion star) for at most 18.300 seconds. This update is based on, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center. This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (http://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium).
