IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (4547) Massachusetts / TYC 2488-00218-1 event on 2023 Mar 07, 05:34 UT Visible from USA, Mexico Summary ------- On 2023 Mar 07 UT, the 30.5678991502959 km diameter asteroid (4547) Massachusetts will occult a 9.6 mag star in the constellation Lynx for observers along a path across USA, Mexico. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 6.47 mag to 16.07 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 2.940 seconds. This update is based on, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center. This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (http://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium).
