IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (1369) Ostanina / TYC 5023-00344-1 event on 2022 May 03, 23:40 UT Visible from Europe, Arabia Summary ------- On 2022 May 03 UT, the 41.8 km diameter asteroid (1369) Ostanina will occult a 10.9 mag star in the constellation Serpens for observers along a path across Europe, Arabia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.05 mag to 14.93 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.680 seconds. This update is based on, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center. This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (http://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium).
