IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (692) Hippodamia / TYC 1470-00809-1 event on 2021 Mar 20, 19:25 UT Visible from Japan, Russia, N Europe Summary ------- On 2021 Mar 20 UT, the 45.8 km diameter asteroid (692) Hippodamia will occult a 10.6 mag star in the constellation Bootes for observers along a path across Japan, Russia, N Europe. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 3.38 mag to 13.96 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.8 seconds. This update is based on, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center. This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (http://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium).
