IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (1010) Marlene / TYC 0289-00271-1 event on 2021 Feb 25, 18:10 UT Visible from China Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 25 UT, the 44.7 km diameter asteroid (1010) Marlene will occult a 11.6 mag star in the constellation Virgo for observers along a path across China. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.11 mag to 15.67 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 4.3 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
