IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (537) Pauly / HIP 58098 event on 2021 Feb 24, 06:49 UT Visible from South America, Central America, Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 24 UT, the 42 km diameter asteroid (537) Pauly will occult a 8.7 mag star in the constellation Leo for observers along a path across South America, Central America,. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 5.32 mag to 14.04 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
