IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (808) Merxia / TYC 1316-00974-1 event on 2021 Feb 16, 11:35 UT Visible from Australia Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 16 UT, the 33.8 km diameter asteroid (808) Merxia will occult a 10.9 mag star in the constellation Orion for observers along a path across Australia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 3.09 mag to 13.92 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 8.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
