IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (137) Meliboea / TYC 160-00724-1 event on 2021 Feb 16, 21:56 UT Visible from Africa Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 16 UT, the 140.4 km diameter asteroid (137) Meliboea will occult a 8.6 mag star in the constellation Monoceros for observers along a path across Africa. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 5.57 mag to 14.16 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 14.5 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
