IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (342) Endymion / UCAC4-519-022318 event on 2021 Feb 13, 14:08 UT Visible from Russia, China, SE Asia Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 13 UT, the 59.9 km diameter asteroid (342) Endymion will occult a 12.0 mag star in the constellation Orion for observers along a path across Russia, China, SE Asia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 2.09 mag to 13.94 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 37.1 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
