IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (1069) Planckia / UCAC4 497-019833 event on 2021 Jan 09, 20:27 UT Visible from Russia, Europe Summary ------- On 2021 Jan 09 UT, the 38.8 km diameter asteroid (1069) Planckia will occult a 12.1 mag star in the constellation Orion for observers along a path across Russia, Europe. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.97 mag to 13.92 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
