IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (313) Chaldaea / UCAC4 457-019107 event on 2021 Jan 03, 02:24 UT Visible from Africa, South America Summary ------- On 2021 Jan 03 UT, the 93.6 km diameter asteroid (313) Chaldaea will occult a 11.2 mag star in the constellation Monoceros for observers along a path across Africa, South America. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.78 mag to 11.27 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 12.1 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
