IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (93) Minerva / UCAC4 488-054610 event on 2020 Dec 24, 21:51 UT Visible from SE Asia, India, SW Asia Summary ------- On 2020 Dec 24 UT, the 142 km diameter asteroid (93) Minerva will occult a 12.4 mag star in the constellation Virgo for observers along a path across SE Asia, India, SW Asia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.31 mag to 13.29 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 13.5 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
