IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (52) Europa / TYC 1333-01483-1 event on 2020 Dec 23, 04:06 UT Visible from Central America Summary ------- On 2020 Dec 23 UT, the 325.6 km diameter asteroid (52) Europa will occult a 10.8 mag star in the constellation Gemini for observers along a path across Central America. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.51 mag to 10.20 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 28.4 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
