IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (163) Erigone / TYC 0728-03032-1 event on 2020 Dec 19, 03:48 UT Visible from Africa, S USA, Mexico Summary ------- On 2020 Dec 19 UT, the 75.4 km diameter asteroid (163) Erigone will occult a 11.2 mag star in the constellation Orion for observers along a path across Africa, S USA, Mexico. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.84 mag to 11.40 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 11.1 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
