IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (483) Seppina / UCAC4 436-008602 event on 2020 Dec 18, 15:36 UT Visible from N Australia Summary ------- On 2020 Dec 18 UT, the 70.9 km diameter asteroid (483) Seppina will occult a 11.6 mag star in the constellation Orion for observers along a path across N Australia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 2.17 mag to 13.58 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 5.1 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
