IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (387) Aquitania / TYC 0899-00029-1 event on 2008 Jul 01, 04:00 UT Visible from SE Canada, E USA, Caribbean Summary ------- On 2008 Jul 01 UT, the 101 km diameter asteroid (387) Aquitania will occult a 10.3 mag star in the constellation Bootes for observers along a path across SE Canada, E USA, Caribbean. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.7 mag to 11.8 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 7.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, TMO astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
